I’m told this is a good Riftbound open? Opened Evelynn as my legend too so this will be fun!

I think tournaments are better when you’re trying to be the best, not the best-of-whatever-card-I-can-flip-for-rent

You’ve probably seen players, talent, and roster reporters QRT posts like this. They’re making hundreds or even thousands a month doing it. “Literally this needs to look organic,” wrote a Polymarket rep in the Discord where this is all organized. So I wrote about it…

Can someone explain why he’s upset with this? I don’t know the terminology well enough to fully follow but it seems like combating collusion is a huge win for @riftboundop
I am so immensely disappointed by the timeline on this decision @riftboundop. I have played hundreds/over a thousand hours of Leblanc for the sole intention of winning every best of I can. I have never once registered with the intention of winning an event. Every event I have ever won/done well has been a byproduct of my ambition to secure a best-of status for my girl. I understand the anti-collusion efforts, and I even agree with some of the decision. The timeline is unreal. I have 3 weeks before Stuttgart to figure out what I’m doing. I want this to be the pinnacle of competitive Riftbound and now I question if it will be. There is such a distinct advantage given to those who have been playing S tier legends for months and months. People have spent so many hours working on Set 1 legends again. We were looking at what could potentially be one of the most diverse and interesting formats ever. Now it’s going to be 4 decks. I’m actually speechless.

If you see this sentiment on your tl, it’s likely because people with blue checks are engagement farming you. There is a free-for-all in the riftbound space right now for views and to be recognized by Riot’s decision-makers in the space, and those incentives are driving choices
Let me tell you something Magic the Gathering players. If there was any definitive indication that now is the time to jump ship and come over to Riftbound, now is it. All competitive formats are dead, and Wizards won't do jack about it. Want to play a game that actually gives a damn about you? Come to Riftbound. Theres barely even a learning curve too since the game operates with a very similar engine.

Something I do want to note is that companies want to be associated with positivity; you don’t have to snuff out anyone’s candle to make yours burn brighter. Create content that people love to engage with and the audience/rewards long-term will follow. That’s what brands want

They’re saying it’s almost as bad as buying blue checks and ai art
New pet peeve unlocked: Commander players who hold grudges between games. Played a pod with randoms the other day where I won the first game pretty convincingly and the table got so salty that the next game we played (I switched decks) they hard focused me off rip. I hate that.

Modern is pretty broken so Turn 3/4 wins with this deck aren’t as consistent as they were in its heyday 10 years ago, but Fight Rigging is an incredible add in 8Emrakul

“Casting” is just… broadcasting. It’s a professional field that many of us went to school for and trained in other fields. I did years of sports radio before commentating my first League of Legends or Magic event
Commentating or casting is not a "reward" for being a content creator. It is a high pressure public facing job, requiring the ability to communicate with a huge amount of people live, while balancing the needs of stakeholders involved. People who are selected to do this always have my full support. Being part of the community is not necessarily a requirement, but being able to do your job and tick all the boxes is. If your end goal of being a content creator is for the rewards that you might get, then I would say it's probably better to use your time for something else.

I wish more people understood that raging against scalpers is just a proxy for being mad about capitalism existing. Moral arguments will never work because it’s literally a consequence of economic theory and human nature.
Scalping is just capitalism. A product is cheap, a capitalist buys it in bulk, then they sell it to you for more. That’s how retail works in general! But when it’s in your face like this, it’s so much more apparent how scummy it is

For those wondering about the current state of the Pokémon market, this is what the graph of the value of my collection has done over the last year. It’s mostly modern IR/SIRs. We’re almost exactly flat year-over-year; down 20% from the peak. Still up from the bottom.

Intelligence must draw on memory. The mind must not simply compile data — as an algorithm now does more quickly than we can — but recall lived experiences, which contain depths of meaning that only the human soul can recognize, and connect more deeply with the goodness of these experiences. Everything that is good begins “with the Spirit” and thus possesses a breath, a dynamism and a sense of communion that, once experienced, are engraved upon the heart. vatican.va/content/leo-xiv/e…

Credit to Riftbound for speedrunning through this part of the growth cycle; this resolved itself quickly
I want to apologize to Minh, Challenger TCG and all of my supporters who defended me. I really fucked up and double down on it. I was afraid and have never been in this situation before. I didn’t want to let everyone down by telling the truth of what really happened, and on top of lying to everyone including my family and friends, I was lying to myself. I didn’t wanna believe it myself that what I was doing was cheating, as crazy as that sounds. I know what I did was wrong, and again, nothing I can say can change that I truly am sorry to everyone, especially to my opponents who I played against. I love Riftbound with everything I have and unfortunately, I really let down a lot of people. I truly am sorry.
