That’s a wrap on our 2025 CCW Conference! In the beautiful hills and valleys of Harrisonburg, VA, we found joy in our collective journey for clean water.
THANK YOU to everyone who attended. Meet us again same time next year in Lancaster, PA? 😉💧

It’s not every day I get to celebrate some real bipartisan legislative wins – and nerd out about blue catfish, Chesapeake Bay office funding, and protecting our Maryland watersheds with people as equally passionate about preserving our Chesapeake Bay! Thank you to the @ChooseCleanH2O Coalition for inviting Team Maryland and our Chesapeake Bay delegation colleagues to celebrate Bay Day, share our wins in a tough Congress, and chart the work ahead to conserve the Bay and our other crucial waterways. I’m so grateful to have such incredible partners to help advance legislation like the MAWS Act, critical provisions in the NDAA, and our new Maryland Whole Watershed Program Federal Partnership Act!

Honored to be recognized by the Choose Clean Water Coalition for my work to protect the Chesapeake Bay - the beating heart of Maryland.
I thank the Coalition for their advocacy and partnership, and I'll continue fighting for our beloved waterways throughout my final year in Congress.
Last week we had an absolutely electric Steering Committee Retreat in D.C.!⚡️
Thank you to everyone who came out to our catfish shocking trip and our meeting Thursday! Protecting the Bay wouldn’t be possible without you all 🥹🫂
Most coal ash dumps have been ignored by power plant operators for years, allowing toxic coal ash waste to leak into drinking water sources, lakes, streams & rivers. @EPA @leemzeldin, it's your duty to make sure power plants clean up their toxic waste. #LegacyCCR #CleanupCantWait
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER!!! 🥳🎂🎉
Whether it be fighting for clean water on Capitol Hill or making us (lovingly) roll our eyes at your clever one-liners, we appreciate you being here for us and for the watershed. Peter Marx Fan Club 4 ever! 💙
Join us in supporting Tribal Nations and Indigenous Conservation Council’s Signatory status by signing their petition. In order to keep conserving our watershed, it is crucial we include Indigenous Knowledge and individuals at the table. Petition can be found in linktree in bio!
#throwbackthursday to Watershed Jeopardy at this years Choose Clean Water Conference! We saw passion, frustration, joy, and fierce competition from individuals all across the watershed. 🤩 Big congrats again to this years winners: Alex Echols, Scott Budden, Whitley Gray🏅
We had a wonderful Maryland member in-person meeting yesterday at the lovely Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center! 🐢 Thanks to everyone who came out to discuss MD water quality updates, Bay Agreement revisions, & conservation of our watershed. Great work, until next time!
Today wraps up 8 years of Pat Calvert’s dedication and work as one of our State Leads 😢 Thank you Pat for your amazing contribution to our coalition and watershed. We know that wherever life leads you next, you’ll surely prosper and continue to make funny faces in group pictures
Happy 4th of July from Dewey! 💧(And the Choose Clean Water Coalition)
As you splish and splash at the beach, lake, and river this holiday weekend, keep in mind we wouldn’t have these vacation destinations without protecting the health and quality of our waters.🐟🌱🦫🦀🏊🦆
Why’s this guy looking so crabby?
According to the 2025 Blue Crab Advisory Report, adult and juvenile blue crab numbers are at their lowest levels in recent years. However, this is not due to overfishing.

Happy Summer! ☀️😎
What better way to unwind and ground yourself than with a Hot Girl Walk? With the federal freeze and an extreme heatwave on our minds, (and bodies!) it can take a real toll on us if we don’t take a moment to think about what we’re thankful for. 🥵🔥🧊
If you missed our first in-person D.C. member event, you can read about it on our blog! 🧑💻 We had some amazing discussions on a Lead-Free D.C., the State of the Rivers, community engagement in protecting our waters, and more!

Yesterday, University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science released their annual Chesapeake Bay and Watershed Report Card. This year, the Bay received a “C”, slight decrease from last year. We must continue to invest in clean water across the Watershed. #bayawarenessweek
This #BayAwarenessWeek, we’re celebrating our local waterways and how communities are connected to the larger watershed.
During this week, we encourage you to reflect on the memories you’ve had and the species you’ve observed at your local waterways.
