I’m watching a Protestant service on TV. So far There’s a rock band on. A preacher came out and asked the congregation for 10% of their money. Now there’s a smoke machine. Preacher is yelling at the congregation about tithing again. Now he’s reading one of Paul’s epistles. He butchering the interpretation. Now he’s doing an emotional manipulative altar call asking if you’ve accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior. My take: the gospel isn’t preached here. Just a bunch of modern rituals meant to get people to give them money. Seems more like a ponzi scheme than a church.

Eric Sammons is really showing those pesky groypers a lesson. Hope he enjoys Vivek’s Ohio 🙄
I recently sent in my absentee ballot here in Ohio.
I voted on the three issues on the ballot (against two tax hikes; for an amendment requiring photo id to vote). I didn't bother voting in any of the races.
Except one.
I voted for Vivek for governor.
Not because I think he's much different from other Republicans, but out of spite against the weird hatred of him from some online right-wing quarters.

The heathens pushed Christ out of everything. Now we get the filthy whore Durga to worship. May God have mercy on our souls for allowing this in our homeland.
This week, our Hindu neighbors celebrate the Goddess Durga during the festival of Navaratri.
Our neighbors will dance Garba, venerate the Goddess Durga with Sindur Khela, receive Tika from elders, set up Golu in their homes, and so much more.
Whether your family calls it Durga Puja, Dashain, Dussehra, or Navratri, may this festival mark a season of reflection and renewal.

1. It is incoherent to be in favor of the death penalty and to be opposed, in principle, to public executions. In fact, many of the purported ends of the death penalty are integrally achieved only when it is public.
2. The death penalty cannot be justly practiced out of a spirit of vindictiveness, bloodlust, or anger. Therefore, any factor that encourages these should be discouraged.
3. There is a difference between publicity as such and a certain manner of publicity (livestreaming). While it isn’t problematic to make an execution open to the public and permit the media to attend, livestreaming (which has an association with entertainment) seems to encourage the aforementioned vices.
4. As a confirmation of this, at times, public executions were carried out with great solemnity, along with assurances for the spiritual good of the executed.
