YC and dropout culture have convinced us the ideal founder is 22, straight out of school, but the data tells a different story. Some interesting data: - An MIT study of 2.7 million US founders found that the average founder was 47 when starting a company that later exited through an acquisition or IPO. - The same study cited that the founders of the fastest-growing 0.1% of U.S. startups were 45 years old on average when they started their companies. - A 50-year-old founder was approximately twice as likely as a 30-year-old founder to produce an acquisition or IPO. - Founders with at least three years of relevant industry experience were twice as likely to build a top-0.1%-growth company as founders with none. So it seems that experience is one of the strongest advantages a founder can have. Two lessons here: 1. It's never too late to start 2. It might actually be TOO early to start; getting work experience is worth considering

Ranchers in northwest Montana were waiting up to two years for a kill date. Five families bought the plant instead. USDA-backed loan, 2023. Four packers kill about 80% of US cattle. When the local plant retires, the nearest option is 250 miles away. dailyinterlake.com/news/2026…

Incredible piece by the very talented Ms. Shira. AI has come a long way, quickly. It’s still best-applied as a superpower tool for those who have domain expertise. Shira, the independently accomplished musician proves my point. 💪👏🙌 Shira!
almost exactly two years ago I posted my first @suno song and thought it was amazing today: a full music video for "I Can't Do This Without You," a dark love song between a woman and her AI assistant made with @claudeai Opus 5.5 and @suno v6 full list of tools in reply

Why is CNN so cheesed? They get the CCP cash without time spent to deliver the ass-kissing. Any business person sees this as a huge win. All the bennies without the busy work.
CNN is once again having a MELTDOWN after they were DENIED access to cover the State Dinner between Trump and Xi 🤣🤣🤣

58% of America’s cattle inventory sits in drought. 57% of the hay is dry right along with them. This isn’t a price problem. It’s a grass problem. The herd was rebuilding, then flash drought tore through cattle country. When grass dies, ranchers sell cows. That’s the squeeze.

Here we go! Any uni taking US tax funding must have their athletic scholarships given to U.S. student athletes. Period. Collegiate Men’s and women’s golf, tennis, track, swimming, skiing … a tiny sliver of scholarships go to US student athletes.
College sports are changing fast. International athletes made up 64% of Division I men’s tennis newcomers in 2022, along with 38% in hockey and 34% in soccer. Now Congress is considering the TEAM USA Act, which would cap international athletes at 20% of each varsity roster. Supporters say it protects opportunities for American students. Critics say colleges should recruit the best athletes available. That debate is officially here.

I’ve been harping on this exact issue for over a decade! Hopefully there will be eyes on this American sports / student athlete issue now that the GOATs are talking about it!
Former professional tennis player Patrick McEnroe highlights how international recruits now make up over 60% of Division I tennis rosters—and over 90% at some universities. He warns that tennis serves as an early indicator of a trend now spreading across all college sports, which could increasingly displace American student-athletes.

China has been stealing technology for decades. Yet western companies have continued to set up shop in the country. Huawei stole code and user manuals from Cisco in the early 2000's. Even worse. Using a combination of hacking and literally planting listening devices it was able to destroy Nortel. A company went to China to grow blueberries. Local companies stole patented plants. The US company is now being destroyed. Why did we let this go on for so long? wsj.com/business/driscolls-b…

Retail beef fell 2%. Finished cattle fell 15%. The consumer saved $0.14 on ground beef. The rancher lost $589 a head. Same animal. The gap is the packer's margin. One of the four companies that kills 80% of US beef took the spread while the cattle side got crushed.

Ingredients and contaminants found within Apeel have now been linked to the most deadly brain disorders and cancers. This includes toxic solvents and heavy metals such as: ☠️ Lead ☠️ Arsenic ☠️ Cadmium ☠️ Mercury Apeel is a synthetic coating, funded by Bill Gates, which is sprayed onto fruits and vegetables to preserve them for longer. You may be unknowingly consuming it since it was approved for organic produce and does NOT require mandatory labelling. And you can't wash it off.

Trump's 25% beef discount won't reach the shelf. That 661M lbs he let in free is lean trimmings the Big Four blend into ground beef. Cut an ingredient 25% and the discount flows to the packers, not you. Ranchers need a price signal to rebuild the herd, not cheaper imports.

When you show up to play world class tennis dressed as a basketball… it’s not going to go well. Another sad Nike fail. Sabelenka played well. No question. Bybakina played better. 🎉⚡️💪🔥🤩

U.S. Open commentators with the exception of J. McEnroe default to stats reports far too much. Stats tell us what happened retrospectively. Stats don’t tell us why or how things are happening - this missing nuance and the “art of the game” The commentators calling the @CocoGauff match failed to even mention how Gauff was winning points by her deeper bouncing groundstrokes that had a touch more net clearance while still being powerful and penetrating which caused Rybenka (sp?) so much trouble in the first set. Commenters just resorted to bland statements like - Coco has an A, B, C, and D game to credit her variety. Avid tennis players young and old watch the pros bc they’re awesome - but also to learn… Stats are dull AF. Color it up… please.

Yonex needs some serious style help. Rybakina is World #1 and playing like it in NY - Prime time. Plus she’s a knock-out. And Yonex dresses her as a lycra color-blocked bumble bee? Total blunder. World-class athletes deserve better.
