Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea Jay Tarriela reacted to the comments of Senator Robin Padilla about Chinese Ambassador Jing Quan, describing him as “educated and a gentleman.”
“Isang malaking pagkakataon ito upang makausap nang personal ang Ambassador ng China na si Ginoong Jing Quan. Edukado, gentleman, at diretsong kausap ang Ginoong Tsino,” Padilla wrote on his Facebook post after meeting Jing Quan at the 2026 ASEAN Chinese Business Leaders Summit.
“Hindi ko rin ma-gets kung ano ang sukatan ni Senator Robin Padilla kung ano ang edukado. Paano magiging edukado ang isang Chinese ambassador na hindi kinikilala ang ating karapatan sa West Philippine Sea?” Tarriela said when asked about the issue on One PH’s “Sa Totoo Lang.”

‘REGRETTABLY, I MADE REMARKS THAT WERE DISPARAGING TOWARD JOSH AQUINO’
Tito P, one of the hosts of “Machong Chismisan,” issued a public apology over a recent podcast episode in which he made derogatory remarks about Josh Aquino, the eldest son of TV host Kris Aquino.
“Regrettably, I made remarks that were disparaging toward Josh Aquino and hurt many people who relate to his condition as a person on the autism spectrum, as well as those who have loved ones like him,” he wrote in a lengthy Facebook post on Wednesday.
In the now-deleted podcast episode, Tito P called Josh “walang kwenta” and compared him to his younger brother, Bimby.
While he acknowledged that he could relate to Josh as someone diagnosed with ADHD, he stressed that this was not an excuse for his “hurtful words or the laughter that followed.”
“I am reaching out to those who were directly affected by the remarks to hopefully extend my apologies in person. And I will continue to hear helpful and professional advice as to how to make myself more accountable and more respectful in the future,” he added.

Ito ang direktang tinanong natin sa ginanap na budget hearing ng Department of Energy (DOE) at Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) kahapon.
Pangako sa atin ng ERC: Nakikipag-coordinate na sila sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) para tanggalin ang 12% Value Added Tax (VAT) na pinapataw sa System Loss Charge. Sa Oktubre o Nobyembre inaasahang mararamdaman ito sa bill ng mga consumer.
Para naman sa pag-alis ng mismong System Loss Charge, humingi si DOE Sec. Sharon Garin ng anim na buwan para bumuo ng plano kasama ang mga electric cooperatives. Unti-unti daw nila tatanggalin ang singil sa non-technical system loss (tulad ng nakaw na kuryente o pilferage).

Isinusulong natin na magkaroon ang Department of Agriculture (DA) ng updated at madaling ma-access na listahan ng mga accredited local farmers, fisherfolk cooperatives, at enterprises na maaaring maging suppliers ng agriculture at fishery products para sa programa.
Bahagi ito ng pagsusulong natin ng Sagip-Saka Act—direktang market access para sa ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda, mas maayos na kita para sa kanila, at mas matatag na food supply para sa ating bansa.
Kasama rin sa ating proposed amendments ang carabao milk tablets para sa feeding programs, lalo na sa mga malalayong lugar kung saan mahirap mag-transport ng fresh milk.
