Big Shaheen Cabin has stood beside Hasselborg Lake in Alaska for nearly a century. Built during the Civilian Conservation Corps era, this historic log cabin sits on Admiralty Island, deep in the Tongass National Forest. It has two sleeping rooms, a central living and cooking area, wooden bunks, and a wood stove. There’s no electricity or running water. Redoubt Lake Cabin is a simple 16×16-foot A-frame tucked into the Tongass National Forest, about 10 miles south of Sitka.
