So honored that H.E. Wang Yi paid a successful visit to Tanzania. This marks the 36th consecutive year for Africa to be the destination of Chinese Foreign Minister's first overseas trip in the new year. China and Tanzania committed to practical implementation of the consensus reached by the two Heads of State in September 2024 to further elevate the China-Tanzania Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership to new heights.

Today is China's #DragonBoat Festival, which is celebrated on the 5th day of the 5th lunar month & has a history of over 2,000 years. It commemorates the patriotic poet Qu Yuan, who sacrificed himself for his home state of Chu. The Chinese people celebrate it with traditions such as dragon boat races & eating #zongzi.

Happy Union Day! Siku Njema ya Muungano! Today is Tanzania's Union Day and also the 61st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Tanzania. As Tanzania's true friend and long-term partner, China will continue to work with Tanzania towards modernization and contribute more to building a community with a shared future for humanity.

China has noticed the difficulties and disturbances caused by "major adjustments" of foreign aid policies of certain countries to aid recipients. Dedicated to a foreign assistance program which aims to foster friendship and promote common development in the past 75 years, China's commitment to increasing its input into global development cooperation remains unchanged.

China's high-speed railways, bridges, and ports have showcased the country’s world-class infrastructure development, according to Minister of Transport Liu Wei at the 2025 "Two Sessions" on Wednesday: - The Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, launched in 2019, is the world's first 350 km/h intelligent HSR - The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the world's longest bridge-and-tunnel sea crossing at 55 km - China leads the world in both the scale and number of automated container terminals, with 52 built.

Pleased with that Tanzania has been appointed a member of the Bureau of the African Union Assembly for 2025.

At the invitation of Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola of G20 President South Africa, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will attend the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting in South Africa, from Feb.20 to 21. We stand ready to work with all parties to make this meeting a productive one.
