This is good news.
ARWENs and similar weapons will be excluded from the definition of 'firearm' in the new year. This means the use of these weapons by officials that does not result in serious injury or death will not prompt an SIU investigation. Police services will still be required to submit an incident report as part of the regular internal police process, and any case involving serious injury or death will still require an SIU investigation.
Great work by our @Woodstock_PS Drug Unit in getting these weapons and drugs off our @cityofwoodstock streets. Special thanks to our partners @WRPSToday for assisting in this warrant execution.
What a great morning it was being able to spread some Christmas Joy to some deserving @cityofwoodstock families. Thanks to @Woodstock_PS Police Service Board for sponsoring the gifts @1047HeartFM for running the Woodstock Wishes Campaign

"Policing has changed dramatically over the years, and so has its role in our communities. In this video, Chief VandeGraaf shares his perspective on what policing means today, how it has adapted to meet new challenges, and why its core values remain as important as ever. Funding adequate and effective policing isn’t just an expense, it’s an investment in safer, stronger communities." - @CobourgPolice YouTube

A video is circulating online alleging that OPP officers spoke to an individual doing lawn care. We can confirm that this video is untrue.
The video manipulates unrelated clips and provides false information. The officers shown did not interact with anyone completing lawn care.
Disinformation like this can fuel hostility, risk officer safety, and undermine community trust. We ask everyone to stay vigilant and critical of what you see online.
Thank you to those who flagged this. The OPP remains committed to transparency and community safety.
Thanks to our @Woodstock_PS Police Service Board for supporting the #CNOY Night of the Year walk Feb 22nd. Our board is Lead Sponsor for this event. All funds raised will support Operation Sharing in @cityofwoodstock
