It is always an honor to recognize exceptional public servants I’m grateful to serve with. Our 2024 Dispatcher of the Year, Sonia Del Castillo represents the best of the best. Without dispatchers, we literally cannot do our jobs. They're the 1st first responders! Congratulations!

Today we honor a Great man, a Great UCLA Bruin, US Serviceman...the Great Dodger. Jackie Robinson...He is one of my heroes. Thank you #42 for using your talents & voice for change during & after your baseball career. #JackieRobinsonDay
Also First Responders, our @UCPDLA Dispatchers are our backbone, heart & soul. Without them we literally can not do our jobs. So, in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week 2024 and every day & night we thank & salute you! #NationalPublicSafetyTelecommunicatorsWeek

With the passing of Reverend/Dr. Cecil “Chip” Murray, the retired, beloved pastor of L.A.’s First AME Church & civil rights icon, we lost a true Spiritual Servant Leader who’s influence will benefit generations. I thank you for your mentorship.
Rest in Peace & Power my friend.
Love this 💙💛….#GoBruins!
April 3, 1968
56 years ago today
This speech given in Memphis on the night before he was assassinated was delivered without notes & Dr. King, feeling sick had not planned to speak, but he summoned the strength to deliver this powerful speech in support of striking Workers. #MLK
APRIL 3, 1968 as we reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. we can admire that on his very last days he was still fighting the good fight of faith in justice for all. #Nonviolence365 #MLK
Let us Rejoice! Have a Blessed, Easter/Resurrection Sunday. #HeIsRisen #EasterSunday2024

One of the most important responsibilities of a police department is the management of its property/ evidence room. @UCPDLA is fortunate to have 2 of the best in Property Officers Gadal & Valenzuela. Thank you both, you are appreciated. #SupportingOurCommunity #GoBruins
What happens to all the evidence our officers collect and belongings that are left behind on campus? They are under the care of our Property Division, Lead Property Officer Eric Gadal and Property Officer Albert Valenzuela.

A heartfelt Thank you to Jordan Ramirez, a teen who walks hundreds of miles each year visiting 1st Responders to simply present the agencies with a “Thank you for your Service” plaque. Yesterday he visited @UCPDLA & we are humbled by his expression of support. #Hero #Thankful
Keep Dancing. #MarchMadness2024 #GoBruins!
Having visited Coach at his condo quite a few times and actually sat in his den, being able to visit this regularly brings back such great memories. So grateful that the Wooden Family made this special place possible. Thank you.
In 2010, not long after John Wooden’s passing, @UCLAAthletics recreated the cluttered den from Coach’s Encino condo, piece for piece as the Wooden family generously donated almost all the contents for the Hall of Fame den. Find out more here: ow.ly/83LK50QW9BZ.

Few LAPD officers have been such impactful change agents as was Detective/Sergeant Fanchon Blake who’s landmark class action law suit resulted in a consent decree mandating gender equality in hiring, assignments & promotion of women & underrepresented groups. #WomensHistoryMonth
I’m reminded of this great quote by RBG, and am grateful for serving alongside these and so many other amazing women…
“Women belong in all places where decisions are being made. It shouldn’t be that women are the exception.”
– Ruth Bader Ginsburg
