A historic occasion that will be forever remembered in the archives of Asante and Dagbon.
In December 2019, His Majesty Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II paid a historic visit to Manhyia Palace to express his heartfelt gratitude to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his instrumental role in restoring peace to the Dagbon Kingdom.
Today, as we mourn his passing, we remember a revered traditional ruler, a friend and ally of the Asante Kingdom, whose reign stood as a symbol of reconciliation, peace, and unity.
May Allah grant him the highest Jannatul Firdaus.

The outfit is a complete uniform of artistry and beauty.
It’s not some random adornment.
The boots you see are traditional boots called the “mug’ri”.
The flamboyant trousers here is referred to as “kurugu”.
The talismanic staff he’s holding is referred to as “damli”. In frame one.
In frame two, the staff is called “gaaji”. Usually used by the Sapashini nima of Dagbon. That’s the warrior clan.
