Can we get a think piece about the instability of pregnancy emotions + the unpredictability of grief?! Maybe I’ll write one, but in the meantime…I hate it here…

.@Chidi_MD take homes: avoid a bridge to nowhere - make sure you have a resuscitation plan - titrate down FiO2, use POCUS in shock, don't drown your patient w fluid, consider whether you have reached 'resuscitative futility' #DevEM2022

The last 2 weeks have been ridiculous. The day after #Uzalde, I had 6 gunshot victims in 3 hours. I was not surprised but I was not prepared. We owe our patients and their families more than “thoughts and prayers.” Check our article… @ResusOne inquirer.com/opinion/gun-vio…

How many more mass shootings need to happen before common-sense gun safety reform is seen as an absolute necessity? How many more lives needs to be lost before gun violence is truly viewed as a public health issue/emergency?

I’m not superstitious but I will be requesting off every Friday the 13th from now. Because I don’t know what kind of mess I just experienced in the ER tonight…

Can someone explain to me why an individual needs to be handcuffed when brought to the ER as a patient, AFTER they’ve already been shot and incapacitated by the police? Is that protocol?
