Governor Pritzker has decided this year to cut spending from fixing the Teacher shortage in Illinois despite giving $150 million to non citizens.

BREAKING: This billboard was put up at the border asking Illinois residents to donate to school choice scholarships in Indiana.
Illinois residents could get a tax credit for the donations.
The scholarships can go to Indiana kids since their governor opted in.

Interesting idea...
However bad our under-enrolled schools are today, just wait a few years… the problem will get worse.
CPS should consider converting the the large number of empty/underutilized schools to data centers… BUT with a contingent Community Benefits Agreement.
The data center operator must pay into a fund to reduce that community’s property taxes and must pay into a fund to pay CPS (ideally lockboxed for pensions).
I am not suggesting they become the mammoth hyperscaler facilities everyone is freaking out about. We don’t even have power readily available for that. I am suggesting the smaller 5–20 MW inference facilities that don’t need massive wattage.
This would turn the problem into a win-win-win-win solution. The community, district, and taxpayers benefit financially, while it helps build the infrastructure we need to win AI.
Johnson has his head too far up his ass about this topic so perhaps the next mayor can work with CPS/CTU to explain that this is perhaps the only good option for all involved.

My pitch for the GOP's elevator pitch for the midterms:
In 2024, you voted against the Democrats and their Republican allies to end open borders, to stop inflationary policies and government fraud, to roll back DEI, to protect women's spaces and to pass the SAVE Act. You stopped the open-border advance, but the old alliance remained powerful enough to bring us to modest gains or even stalemates on other issues. The establishment knows you won't vote Democrat. They just need to demoralize you enough to sit out this November so they can turn back your advance.
Shorter version: The establishment doesn't think you have the backbone to hit them a second time. This time around, let's hit them twice as hard.

Government is so cute. A socialist has the No. 1 leadership position, rising on the promise of solving every problem with confiscation and more government. Once she gets there, everything goes to shit(tier) really fast, so she shoots a video about how she’s signing an executive order to do *effective* government, not the shitty kind she’s been doing. And despite government being her only idea for how to help people, it never occurred to her until now that it’s not great at doing that and she should try to make it work as well as possible? She also scapegoats imaginary conservatives for “starving” government, making in ineffective, sure girl. You know, all the conservatives in the starved, tiny government of… Seattle.

Dropped out of high school my senior year and got my GED. I was in and out of jail and committed crimes up until I was pregnant and homeless with my first child…
My son changed my life for the better.
