What is it with politicians using the phrase “I get it”, when clearly they don’t?

Have just seen the (modestly scored) Arnaud Ente Bourgogne Blanc ‘19 offered at £225 per btl. The world’s gone f’ing mad! Who on earth buys this?

The recipe I use for Christmas cake (although I add more nuts and booze) and I can thoroughly recommend it! Great recipe.
🎄 Cake of the Week: Classic Christmas Cake Delia’s original Christmas cake, made with fruit soaked overnight in brandy, dark brown sugar, treacle, spices, almonds and citrus zest. Bake it slowly, then ‘feed’ with Armagnac or brandy as it matures. A proper traditional Christmas cake to make ahead. #christmascake #christmasbaking #christmasplanning #deliaonline #fruitcake

I’m afraid pretty well all of this £34.70 is going to HMRC.

Booked an online table for a very nice London tapas resto before realising there is a 90 min cap on the table. I emailed politely to enquire whether this may be extended slightly. I was (politely) told no! I cancelled. In the current market? I find this a surprising policy.

Truly wonderful.
The first episode of Postman Pat was broadcast on this day in 1981.

The world is coming to an end. How do I know this? I have been in France for a week and have not eaten a good croissant.

Can thoroughly recommend this place if you happen to be in St Quentin, northern France. Lovely old-fashioned menu served by lovely people. Gesiers salad, crisp pig’s trotter, chocolate fondant, bottle of Brouilly. Boom!

At Maison Trimbach with Jean T. Lovely bloke. Have always loved the wines from here. A big producer, so often stupidly looked down upon by some snotty somms. Their top wines are brilliant. This wasn’t bad!
