For anyone doubting that the failure of data center resistance is a fait accompli, they currently comprise ~1/3 of Blackstone's $600B+ real estate portfolio.
They've made enormous investments in the vertical as well, buying into AI and energy production firms directly.
This represents a shift away from new-build multifamily housing (which is presently at decade lows after shedding 65% of starts). This could be interpreted multiple ways, but much new multifamily construction recently was built to serve projected international migration.
The smart (self-fulfilling prophecy generating) money is on population contraction and compute expansion.

Its not "better", it was necessary. Most of the changes we dont like or really loved about politics came from necessity. The current road was running out. Very few people turn off a working road for a new one, maybe Bismark but not even really.
