JUST IN: Peter Thiel revealed to have a Chess.com account with more than 43,000 games played, after recently admitting he plays “way too much chess on the internet.”

One of the most powerful chess photographs I have ever seen is this portrait of Alexander Alekhine, taken in Paris in 1925.
You can’t see the chessboard in the picture. Neither could he: Alekhine was giving a 28-board simultaneous exhibition, playing entirely “by memory.” He won 22, drew 3, and lost 3.
Chess gives you this kind of superpowers.

Sorry to not speak about chess today, but I have an emergency problem
I would need some help from any @Steam / @Steam_Support employee regarding my counter-strike 2 account

I will be launching a Patreon very soon. I will have to stop compiling TWIC fairly soon unless I can find a way to make it pay. Maybe its time has come and gone. I have some good ideas for a Patreon community but maybe I left that too late too.

I would like to announce my next classical matches.
May 24-26 vs Jorden Van Foreest (Belgrade)
6 games classical 60+30
May 29-June 1 vs Ian Nepomniatchi (Belgrade). 8 games classical 60+30
I believe 1-1 matches are the future of chess, inviting all chess content creators to both matches!

I take the opportunity to offer my similar view, with a twist: using this short classical time control, I loved the format of WR Chess that I took part in, 16 players, 1 match per day, 4 days. You could easily imagine creating a circuit looking like the ATP tour, with 2-3 different tournaments in a week all around the world, 16-32 players in each. (and could easily envision a few grand slams lasting two weeks, with more players and some matches with 4 games/2 days) Every player from top 100 and more would have more opportunities to take part in those competitions (and closer to their home), and every game played would have something big at stake. Just my 2 cents!
The match between my fellow Americans @HansMokeNiemann and @awonder676 is very exciting and i love the format, 2 short classical games a day, rated, winner takes it all! The tenacity of Hans is world class, while Awonder , by outplaying him is showing that he is capable of anything.
I feel that the fact that it’s played in Paris , somehow brings chess back to the era of Cafe de la Regence , La Bourdonnais , Anderssen and Morphy.
In an economy where 30 players are fighting for 10 invitational spots this is a way to go. Bravo!

I ask the founder of the project many questions and Paweł is extremally helpful and whenever something is not working, he immediately resolves the issue.
