Very happy about the performance of our biggest chess talent Christian Glöckler and even prouder of my dad, his home coach, who managed to rise another prodigy in Germany. German chess currently rocks! de.chessbase.com/post/ein-so…

Another mind-blowing Wijk coming to an end.
Congrats to Nodirbek - very impressive indeed!
Javokhir kept establishing himself among the very top.
Vincent managed to win so many games after a poor start - a quality which only few have.
Jorden - probably the most exciting games throughout the event. So many ideas, such a freshness!
Yagiz, great debut. At times it felt like young Kasparov. Many records to break for the boy with a clear World Champion potential and ambitions. Turkey to emerge as chess super power within couple of years.
Matthias proved he is worthy Candidate and belongs to 2700+ club.
Andy makes to the Masters next year. Excited to see another young star emerging. Just few months ago he needed a wild card to play the Grand Swiss - and now one can fairly expect him to clinch 2700 soon.
Vasyl - no words. Genius. He did not qualify at the end of the day, but I'd say everyone would be happy to see him in the Masters next year.
Bibissara - very formidable play. Kept her cool and performed at 2600+ in such a company.
And of course, many other heroes at this unique event.
That was exceptional. That was Wijk.

I’ll say this once again: @DanielKingChess’s channel deserves ten times more subscribers than it currently has. He is too good, and those who are not following are missing out on some of the best and most instructive game analysis out there:

😊 Well done, Dad. Spread the word.
7YO: “Daddy, who’s your favorite YouTuber?”
Me: “Probably @DanielKingChess.”
7YO: “Oh, I know @DanielKingChess!”
Me: “Oh yeah? What are his videos about?”
7YO: “Chess!”
😨😍 Guess some of the Tata Steel commentary in the background has been sinking in!

Do you remember in one of the games between Kramnik and Fritz, the world champion missed a mate in 1? The man who executed the mate was @ChessBase's Mathias Feist. And he is responsible for some amazing innovations when it comes to chess technology.

So happy to have bought and studied the new @ChessBase DVD on "Understanding material imbalances". Classic and modern games on the topic, eloquently presented by WIM @demchsveta, highly recommendable for #chess improvers.
