We dusted off the HR Wallingford ducks and dabbled in a spot of #flumefriday racing this week.
Lucky ducky no. 438 came in first, with duck 514 swimming in at the tail end.
It may look 'quackers', but it was all for good causes, raising funds for @anthonynolan and @autismASF.

We had a great time with future "STEMinists" at the @GirlScoutsofWisconsin Badgerland Council event! Shout out to Rayne and Molly who were tremendous helpers with our reptiles while scouts compared animal temperatures using infrared thermometers and thermal imagers! #girlsinSTEM
A sad day at sea (lake) when my #Bathycat went rogue. Strong offshore winds got the best of me and my RC boat is MIA. If you see an orange castaway on @LakeMichigan13 please contact me! Little guy has gotten me lots of good data and I'd love to get it back! #setadrift #savemyphd – at Milwaukee, WI
Just wanted to say THANK YOU ALL for keeping your eyes peeled. Photo from a pilot out of Racine who is flying the coast in search of #bathycat. Fingers crossed we find it! @LakeMichigan13 @CBS58 @WISN12News @fox6now – at Wisconsin, USA

I built out this #Python @matplotlib dashboard to teach principal components analysis (PCA) for #inferential #MachineLearning.
A great way to observe the change in variance explained with an orthogonal transformation. See it on #GitHub @ github.com/GeostatsGuy/Pytho… ∀. #DataScience

In case you don’t believe the same equations govern motion in the atmosphere and the ocean.

Processes that impact beaches in the winter are hard to study and will be affected by future climate change. This photo shows ice in Lake Superior on the beach at Port Wing, WI—look closely to spot the researchers on the beach in the upper left! (Photo from Elmo Rawling) #GSA2022
