The reason why there is a markup is because makeup artist use certain products and techniques for brides. The same way TV makeup needs certain techniques to show up on camera correctly. There’s extra step for prep on wedding days. Normally at a makeup appointment you come with your face clean, but on wedding days, the MUA will clean it for you and do your facial and even trim your eyebrows. Why is this not common sense?

Because it’s not the same face of makeup and I guarantee you it shows up in pictures. While the markups can be egregious for things related to weddings, I hate this trend of pretending like “it’s just another event” to devalue the service providers, who are usually women.
