Dear #SharePoint people, has the events we part feature action of clicking the 'add to my calendar' ever opened directly to Outlook, or does it just download the .ics file and require clicking on the download bubble to open, assuming the file association has been made? Thanks!

I’ve realised that I made an amateur’s mistake in the tweet below. The alien spaceship (which is a comet) shite is only out of hand on my timeline because the X algorithm has classified me as a UFO nobber because I keep talking about it. An exponentiation of drivel has ensued. Therefore I will stop and world will become sensible again. I think that’s how it works ……
Everyone should listen to @carolynporco … this alien spaceship stuff is completely out of hand - it’s OVERWHELMINGLY likely to be a lump of ice and rock. We went through similar nonsense with the ‘LHC might create a black hole and destroy the world’ fiasco. There is value in thinking about highly unlikely possibilities of course - and it can be fun to publish a paper or two on them - but some people who are not scientifically / statistically literate really worry about these things when they read about them out of context in the press or on social media.
Having to remind myself adaptive scopes again for the 3rd time in order to go over with them for a client. Forget so much unless you have decent documentation.
Thanks to for this article to remind me what I needed to remember!

With the upcoming unlicensed #OneDrive change upcoming early next year, isn't it a lack of foresight on behalf of #Microsoft to not offer a choice of location for file sharing in #Teams for 1-to-1/Many chats? I'm looking at big problems coming for my clients.

Finally I got the picture 😮
Snowy Durdle door in Dorset
One of my most memorable moments, capturing this very rare image. The fact that we never really get snow down south and especially at such an iconic tourist attraction such as Durdle Door!
Finally Intelligent SharePoint versioning is available! Good news, but still clobbered by retention policies I would expect! Thanks @Practical365 for the heads up!

Nice easy article on restricting #OneDrive sync clients to domain joined machines. practical365.com/restricting… Thanks to @Practical365
A new feature coming in March 2024 for #SharePoint and #M365 - intelligent version control. A massive benefit for the clients I support where retention policies result in overblown version limits that aren't managed correctly when the policy expires. microsoft.com/en-us/microsof…
Information also here : office365itpros.com/2023/07/…
Great to see on the roadmap, but this is a feature that is years overdue! Supporting a client with huge storage issues, I'm sure retention policies will overrule any of this being applied:

The joy of having users delete over 100k files from a OneDrive sync by accident and not being told exactly what was deleted - just screenshots! Good job I recently found a script to purge recycle bin items by the API, just need to find the restore API cmds. #SharePoint #OneDrive

The official end of #SharePoint 2013 workflows, starting the April 2 2026, Microsoft will remove the ability run create or execute workflows.
Maybe time to scan your tenant to see if this impacts you?

Another great solution found - demoting a #SharePoint #Modern news page to a standard Page and vice-versa:

2 tweets in one day! I need a lie down now... 🤣
Superb solution calling the #SharePoint API to delete a targeted list of 300k items, where a standard #PnP doesn't work - list view threshold issues. Some tinkering required to get it automating through a csv file:
