When people ask me why I love golf, I tell them it’s so much more than hitting a ball around a course.
It’s a mental battle against yourself. A test of skill, patience, and character. A chance to spend four hours outdoors, surrounded by nature, while trying to conquer a course
someone thoughtfully designed to challenge you.
One great hole can be followed by a terrible one. One great round can be followed by your worst.

The Yale Golf Course discussion has caught my attention.
A historic Macdonald/Raynor design, restored by Gil Hanse, but with some questions about conditioning just months after reopening.
How much time should a major restoration get to fully settle in before we judge the result?
The Yale Golf Course just got a $30 million Gil Hanse restoration.
Now, Yale is charging $350 for the public to play…with poor and patchy turf conditions.
So, what happened?

Medinah is about to add another chapter to its incredible history.

Big changes coming to the PGA Tour in 2028.
A two-tier system with promotion and relegation is an interesting idea. I like the concept of making players earn their way into the top level.

Ohio golf keeps getting better.
Denison Golf Club, a Donald Ross design from 1924, is getting an $8M restoration led by Gil Hanse. The goal is to bring back much of Ross’s original vision, including opening up the property and removing hundreds of trees.

Really cool news for Ohio golf. A new PGA Tour event is coming to Firestone Country Club in Akron in 2027.
One of the most historic courses in the state, and a venue that has hosted some incredible golf. Love seeing Firestone back in the spotlight.
