Federal funding is helping create more safe, supportive spaces in Iqaluit. Set to open in January, the new Ullivik low-barrier shelter will provide shelter, beds, and a safe place for people in the community.

We’re building a stronger health care system across the Northwest Territories. Training physicians. Improving mental health care services. Building and modernising health infrastructure across the territory. For Northerners, that means better access to care, closer to home.

Through the Building Canada Act, the government can determine a major infrastructure project to be in Canada’s national interest — so we can build it faster.    Today in Fort McMurray, our government listed the West Coast Oil Pipeline, now known as Pacific Link, as a project of national interest to unlock Canada’s full potential as a global energy superpower.   Read more: pm.gc.ca/en/news/news-releas…

Canada has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to become a global energy superpower and become less reliant on a single trade partner. To seize it, we’re building a new pipeline to the West Coast. This is a Canada that’s working. Building big. Building together. Building strong.

Ever since I was a kid in Fort Smith, I’ve heard about the possibility of the Mackenzie Valley Highway. After decades of false-starts, we’re building it.
