I'm very grateful to Krisy and Kelly from @AtkinsonCenter for highlighting our work on bird biodiversity with Colombian rubber-growing communities and the Semlitz Family Sustainability Fellows Program @Cornell!
Can sustainable rubber production support both biodiversity & local livelihoods? 🌿
A @Cornell doctoral candidate is using AI-powered BirdNET Analyzer from @CornellBirds to study how rubber agroforestry can benefit birds & farmers in the Amazon ➡️ news.cornell.edu/stories/202…
Proud to watch @CornellCALS rising junior @DhruvCohen ’26 present our work on migratory songbird detection in Colombia at the World Ecoacoustics Congress in Madrid!
Thanks to @ecoacoustics24, @wendyerb @CornellBirds, @BirdNET_App and project partners @Asoheca1996 & @asoprocaucho
There is still time to apply for the Associate / Full Professor position in Environmental Justice, Law, and Policy at @CornellCALS!

The position examines environmental (in)justice & explores diverse environmental practices, procedures, & knowledges!
I am very excited to see @Cornell's advert for a Professor in Environmental Justice, Law and Policy here in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment! It's an incredible-looking role and I encourage prospective applicants to come and join us in beautiful Ithaca!
We are hiring an Associate or Full Professor, Tenure-track, in Environmental Justice, Law, and Policy in the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment, Cornell University. Join us in articulating and engaging Environmentally Just Futures. Link: academicjobsonline.org/ajo/j…
Big thanks to @LaurelSymes and @CharlieATebbutt for an incredible internship experience at the Yang Center! 🙌 Your guidance and expertise have taught me so much. Feeling incredibly grateful for the chance to collaborate with such wonderful individuals🦜
Thanks Dhruv Cohen '26 not only for this expert voiceover, but for a month of dedication, enthusiasm and good humour. Thanks also to @Asoprocaucho and @Asoheca1996 for being so welcoming and supportive of our research with @CornellBirds!

"Working in a region as biodiverse as Colombian Amazonia requires close collaboration with local experts. Carrying out fieldwork with Guaviare ornithologists has enabled us to identify hundreds of species within days and, crucially, to learn some of their songs!"
Thank you @Cornell, @CornellCALS and to all the many academics and stakeholders who are making this work possible - I'm so grateful and excited to see what the data tell us about the role artisanal rubber can play in the Colombian Amazon!
Each summer, @CornellGrad students conduct field work at sites around the world. Charlie Tebbutt, @CornellCALS natural resources and the environment Ph.D. student, traveled to the Amazon to investigate land use practices and bird biodiversity.

I didn’t intentionally begin my 2-day #bikepack around Cayuga Lake on #WorldBicycleDay, but it’s a nice coincidence! Here’s to the #bicycle (that marvel of #sustainable transport), the beauty of the Finger Lakes, & @ChristmannTina, who first showed me how much fun cycling can be!
Last week I had the pleasure of hosting Professor @darmenteras who came to speak on #fires & land use in the Northwestern #Amazon with @Cornell_LACS!
Thank you Dr Armenteras for sharing work from @Ecolmod & starting timely conversations on equitable collaboration in #science.
Last week, 1st-year undergraduate Dhruv Cohen & I set up our 1st #SWIFT Recording Unit to record trial birdsong data ahead of fieldwork in Colombia. Ithaca kindly obliged by recreating wet season conditions.
(Fingers crossed for a red-headed woodpecker)

Funny, I could have sworn the #UK agreed to 'accelerating efforts towards the phasedown of unabated #coal power and phase-out of inefficient fossil fuel subsidies' at #COP26 in #Glasgow last year. If only we wrote all this down in a #ClimatePact somewhere.

Thank you @amchatrchyan and @AtkinsonCenter for an incredible #COP27 experience. It has been a privilege to collaborate with @UNFCCC through the @AdaptXChange Nairobi Work Programme as we work towards strengthening knowledge for #adaptation and #resilience in Peru!
Looking forward to tonight's film and discussion with filmmaker Felipe Mesa! @CornellCALS @EinaudiCenter @AtkinsonCenter @Cornell

I am thrilled to represent @Cornell at the UN Climate Conference (@COP27P) in Egypt. It is an honour to attend such a key global conference, and to collaborate with the Lima Adaptation Knowledge Initiative to address climate change knowledge gaps in Peru.

BREAKING 🚨
Greenpeace activists have interrupted @TrussLiz speech at #CPC22 to denounce the prime minister 'shredding' her party’s 2019 manifesto promises.
The PM is U-turning on fracking, strong climate action, and world-leading environmental protections.
Who voted for this?
“People voted for strong action on #climate, a fracking moratorium, world-leading environmental protections, and tackling #poverty and #inequality. What they’re getting instead is #fracking, a potential bonfire of rules on #wildlife and #nature protection"
