Very disappointed in the quality of service from the @TheRAC_UK - my wife broken down, alone and response time quoted of 4-5 hours. Unacceptable for any customer but especially so for a lone female. Will be contacting @TheAA_UK and rejoining them I think.

Great to see @NPUAhockey umpires flying the @EnglandHockey flag here at the @eurohockeyorg indoor championships in Hamburg and massive (totally deserved) congratulations to @Thathockeyumpi1 and @GLJGem who have been appointed to the Ger v Ned women’s final.

Replying to @EnglandHockey
@EnglandHockey why do you care so little about the welfare of your volunteer umpires and officials, making them share hotel rooms at indoor events whilst in a world pandemic? #noumpiresnogame

Seem to be more staff than travellers at Houston airport. Let’s hope we don’t have a problem with the flight.

Right, that’s it. Now looking for anyone interested in taking over as West HA President, Treasurer and Secretary. Meeting on Thursday evening if you want to come along and take over. Perhaps you can do a better job. Enjoy.

I wonder why we bother volunteering when all some people want to do is complain. Perhaps if more people got involved and put some time in then things would be better all round. #hockeyfamily

Sorry to report that Alwyn Twigg has passed away. Alwyn represented the West as a player and went on to be an EH selector and coached EH boys U16 He also did a lot of assessing especially after he retired. His funeral is on Friday 28th December at Canford Crem: Bristol at 15:00.

Looking forward to a run out. Pre-season games are important for umpires as well as players.

I have asked @EnglandHockey if we can have a teleconference facility for the Governance meeting in Taunton this week to allow people who are based in the distant parts of @EH_West the opportunity to take part. Watch this space ...
