ChargeLab is heading to icnc26 in Berlin next week!
We build software that makes EV charging simple for drivers, site hosts, and installers across North America. Europe has been at this longer than we have, so we're going to learn from the best of European EV charging and bring that home.
Find our VP of Product, Kim Phelan, and our VP of Engineering, Kelvin Kang, on the floor. Come say hi 👋
Over the past few days, our team in Toronto weathered the city's biggest snowstorm in history—nearly two feet in less than 24 hours.
This didn't stop our team from charging up! ❄️🔌
We've dug ourselves out of the snow and are back in the office today.
(Shout out to our partner @IvyCharge, who kept their network running throughout the storm and helped many Ontarians make it home.)
We just wrapped up the inaugural Open Charge Alliance + @evroaming North America Member Meeting, hosted at our very own ChargeLab HQ.
Some of our highlights:
• The OCA launched its new whitepaper on EV charger network migrations
• We heard from experts on EV charger cybersecurity
• Lonneke Driessen gave an update on all the progress across OCPP working groups
• We discussed the crucial interplay between OCPP for charger communications and OCPI for handshakes between charging networks
• Michel Bayings prepared us for the upcoming release of OCPI 3.0
Thank you to everyone who joined us from Europe, Asia, and all across North America! 🌎
Today, we're hosting North America's very first Member Meeting for the Open Charge Alliance and @evroaming. We've welcomed 40+ industry experts to discuss open standards for EV charging, interoperability, cybersecurity, and everything else that goes into building a better EV charging experience.
This morning, we heard from OCA Director Lonneke Driessen, plus engaging panelists who spoke about OCPP network migrations and security. This afternoon, we'll cover V2X, local controllers, and the interplay between OCPP and OCPI.
Tomorrow is all about roaming, with EVRoaming Foundation Director Michel Bayings kicking off a packed agenda.
We're proud to support both of these non-profit organizations that are working to standardize EV charging for all 💪
We welcomed our first snow of the season today at ChargeLab HQ in Toronto ❄️
Luckily, our indoor lab keeps us testing EV chargers throughout all four seasons. Our test lab is crucial in ensuring EV chargers operate smoothly with our back-end software and delivering ChargeLab's industry-leading uptime.
🚀 Driver app updates: We're making EV charging easier than ever ⚡
At ChargeLab, we’re focused on removing friction from every part of the charging experience — and our latest updates do just that.
✅ Simpler sign-in – Drivers can now log in with Google or Apple. No passwords, no hassle.
💳 Faster payments – With Apple Pay, drivers can start charging up to 3 minutes faster.
🧭 Smarter troubleshooting – Clear payment pointers now help more drivers charge successfully on the first try.
🏠 Better home charging – We’ve expanded support from one to six+ charger brands, so users can set charging schedules and manage amperage right from the app.
All these updates came directly from driver feedback — and we’re not stopping here.
