Getting a lot of Manchester United fans in the mentions today lecturing about money, so here's a quick history lesson.
Albert Quixall 1958, British record. Denis Law 1962, British record. Gordon McQueen 1978, British record. Bryan Robson 1981, British record, two years after the first ever £1m transfer in this country. Pallister 1989, record fee for a defender. Keane 1993, British record. Andy Cole 1995, British record, bought off US in January to stop us winning the league. Van Nistelrooy AND Veron in 2001, two British records in one year. Ferdinand 2002, world record for a defender. Di Maria 2014, British record. Pogba 2016, world record on the entire planet. Maguire 2019, world record for a defender AGAIN.
For sixty years, when United wanted a player, the price went up for everyone else. They've broken the British transfer record more than any club in history.
Since Ferguson left: £1.43 BILLION spent. Zero titles. Net debt over a billion dollars, and their owners' takeover model has since been banned by the Premier League for loading debt onto clubs.
Lads, Man city have broke the rules, but lets not pretend you're not the moral guardians of football finance. 🖤🤍

Imagine how massive the propaganda must have been to convince young people that the one on the left “isn’t a child” and the one on the right “is a woman.”

Hughie Gallacher scores for Newcastle United
Frank Swift once said of Hughie “He had more tricks than a bucketful of monkeys” which has to be one of the best compliments ever paid
