This could not be more bang on. We've optimized games so hard based on metrics and analytics, we lost some of the soul.

vanilla wow understood something we've spent 20 years trying to optimize out of games. friction gives things texture. difficulty gives things weight. a new item isn't just ilvl increase, an ability isn't just another slot of yr rotation, the downtime isn't just walking/flying.

Honestly the enjoyment people would get if they took this approach generally would be much more. Tier lists, meta comps and all of that strips fun so fast. I am a hypocrite on this because I'm a min/maxer in Retail and refuse to not know everything before a patch is dropped.

I’ve realized that to maximize my fun in WoW Forever requires these things: 1: Level slowly, do not compare my progress with others. 2: Embrace being clueless, don’t seek out guides. 3: Remain completely ignorant of anything meta. 4: Keep on top of professions whilst leveling.

Feels like with the Discord guild integration, Blizzard has missed a trick to have cross-version games with Forever and Retail. This would help both games imo. Retail holdouts will feel that their world is empty right now (it is).

Was going to try and get some of my +18 keystones done today on Retail, need Venomcores and Keystone Myth achievement but jesus motivation is low! Might just grind Smite 2 ranked instead.

I love the whole idea of Banderion Keep - the new Forsaken Paladin order hall in Tirisfal Glades. Named after the hero from the new Warcraft III expansion I really dig the whole new area surrounding Banderion Keep too. I found me a zombie Loch Ness monster in a nearby lake

I am just blown away by WoW: Forever so far. The new lighting has made this look like an entirely new game I've played through Tirisfal Glades countless times, but this time it's actually creepy. There's so much environmental storytelling happening Continued thoughts ⬇️
