I just rewatched the 1988 Masters of the Universe movie for the first time in almost twenty years and... had a great time. As B movie as the middle part is, Dolph Lundgren had the physique to make you feel like he was the most powerful man in the universe and Frank Langella went full Shakespeare with Skelator he played the role 100% straight and was so amazing in the role you forget the bad makeup. Yeah, the middle part sucks. Yeah kid, you're uncertain about your future post high school grad, aren't we all. Oh Boo hoo, your parents died in a plane crash. And of course the Jaded cop who's seen it all who's about to see more. But man, when the film is on it's A game it really nails the vibe of a live action MOTU.
