It's day 1 of the Great Lakes Grain crop assessment tour. The cows are always happy to see me when I come home for the next 2 weeks. The corn looks ok where they received timely rains in Norfolk. #GLGTour2025 #cowchow
It's not looking good for soybean yields in Norfolk county this year. Drought and spider mites are taking their toll. #glgtour2025
These soybeans are showing some heat stress today on the sand and need a drink of water. I could use a cold drink also! Pod counts look good on these beans. #GLGTour2024
1st field of corn shows an average yield. Some pollination issues and tar spot in the lower leaves. #GLGTour2024
Day 1 of the #GLGtour2024. Looking forward to see what potential this year's crop of corn and soybeans has.

Bean counter @Owen_Seed_Smart blends right in with this lush canopy of soybeans in Waterloo county. What a difference the moisture in this area is going to make this year from last year on yields #GLGtour2023
The last field walk of the night with the dogs. This @DEKALB_Canada 52-84 is looking good. #GLGTour2023
Some white mould starting to show up in some soybean fields. Unfortunately it's taking the top end off of some nice looking soybeans. #GLGTour2023
This morning I found a more advanced field in Norfolk. This corn was planted in April. Stand population was good, cob length and kernals around were very consistent. Frequent rains in Norfolk this summer have definitely helped the corn crop this year. #GLGtour2023

There's lots of action happening for the next two weeks at the 14th Annual Great Lakes Grain Crop Assessment Tour 2023. Today, Alicia, Chad, Nolan, Jen, and Lynn hopped in a field near Ayr to kick things off. Follow #GLGTour2023 for updates.
An early start to the #glgtour2023 today to try and beat some of the afternoon heat. Heat and sunshine is what we need right now to move this crop along. Yesterday's findings were a very consistent corn crop in Brant, Oxford and Norfolk but the crop is behind in maturity.
