“Why do you go away? So that you can come back. So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors. And the people there see you differently, too. Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving.”

I PROMISE you aren't cheating. Just about every professional in the industry uses references for literally everything.

“It can’t hurt to apply!” Yes it can. Constant rejection hurts. Spending hours on a cover letter & getting zero response hurts. Putting yourself out there in the hopes that someone will give you a chance is really taxing. Let’s stop pretending it isn’t.

If the world had been more set up for Disabled people before the pandemic, non-disabled people would’ve benefitted.
The spread would’ve been greatly reduced simply by having accommodations available as the norm (e.g., working from home, telehealth, social programs, etc.)

Friendly reminder, let's stop saying we "overcame disability" if the individual literally is still disabled. We work in collaboration with our disabilities in the majority of cases where we achieve things.
What we overcame were ableist expectations or inaccessible barriers.

“Nobody wants to work anymore.”
Nobody ever wanted to work at all. We wanted to be productive, be creative, be part of a community, be supported, be validated, and have the time and space to truly rest. No one actually wants to trade in hours of their life to “earn” necessities.

Today at the supermarket some children kept screaming "Doggy!" at me & I started to get worried.
I didn't want to take @BlondeHistorian around the shop because it was too loud!
Hoomans, please ask little ones to have an excited chat about pawfessionals after we've left the shop

I'm on episode 7 of "Them". Think I'm gonna do a review of it once I've finished but I can definitively here, if you are black please avoid this show. Its Black Trauma porn, yes there is informative information about how black vets got screwed with the GI bill and redlining but
