What is the conservative view of liberty? What role does tradition and customs play? I will be addressing these questions during my keynote speech on Wednesday in Budapest.

"An affable elitism, combined with what Burgos calls a conservative individualism and anti-socialism, encapsulates the LSE Right and makes it perhaps the most electorally viable in Britain, if not for a rising tide of populism and heated, American-style culture-war politics."
Intellectual conservatism has proved to be both durable and versatile over the last 250 years, and there is little reason to believe that it will be any less versatile in the future.

I trasnslated and wrote about the Oakeshott-Popper exchange:
Michael Oakeshott 1948-as levélváltása Karl Popperrel. (2006) Bev. és ford.: Horkay Hörcher Ferenc. Kommentár, 1/2. 35-45

As @MateusMBruno asked, the life of an editor didn't really change between today and the fifties (as one could guess). Here you find Oakeshott chasing Popper.

A good question. Anyone could help answering it?
Replying to @HorcherF
Are there any universities that teach an undergrad survey course on the intellectual history of conservative thought? Not just the typical drive-by on Edmund Burke, but something more substantive stemming from Plato and Aristotle on up.
This was such a hole in my undergrad education.
