Chicago police released images of four persons of interest. Official descriptions identify three black men - one in a black jacket and baseball hat, one in a black jacket over a white hoodie, and one in a blue jacket with a brown winter hat - and one asian woman in a black jacket and white pants. No arrests have been made.

The case drew limited national coverage. Chicago has recorded more than 300 hom*cides in 2026, with the large majority of victims young black males.
Clearance rates for fatal sho*tings of white victims have historically run higher than for black victims, yet this white victim’s k*lling remains unsolved months later.

California's own state auditor found a Medi-Cal ride company with a single vehicle on file that billed for 35 trips in one day.
Nine of those trips were over 340 miles each.
That outfit pulled in more than $11 million, and nobody in Sacramento even opened a file on it until the auditor started asking questions.
It gets worse. The state flagged 28,000 providers as its biggest fraud risks and never looked at 26,000 of them.
Those providers billed at least $12 billion.
This is your money, and the people running the program can't do basic math.

ICE Lodges Detainer for Mexican Man Charged in "Demonic" Knife Attack on Female Co-Worker Who Offered Him a Ride
A Mexican national has been charged with attempted murder in sanctuary New York following a brutal stabbing inside his co-worker's vehicle, federal authorities have confirmed with Border Hawk.
The shocking incident unfolded just after 8 p.m. on Friday in Saratoga Springs, a resort city north of Albany.
A young woman identified as Olivia Neri was wrapping up a work shift when she "noticed an employee standing nearby and offered him a ride," a family friend explained on GoFundMe.
"As they approached the area where he asked to be dropped off, he suddenly pulled out a knife. In that instant, Olivia said his face seemed to change completely, morphing into something she could only describe as demonic. He attacked her inside her car."
Neri was reportedly strangled with her seatbelt and slashed in the neck and ear before she managed to jump out of the moving vehicle, which crashed into a local Italian restaurant.
Bystanders came to the aid of the victim, who was bleeding profusely.
Neri received a blood transfusion at a local hospital before being airlifted to Albany Medical Center for emergency surgery.
Her passenger, identified as 36-year-old David Cruz Torres, attempted to flee the scene but was quickly detained by law enforcement.
Officers determined that Neri's injuries were likely not suffered in the vehicle collision and Cruz Torres was arrested.
Cruz Torres has been charged with second-degree attempted murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He required an interpreter during an appearance in court on Tuesday.
“On October 12, 2026, ICE lodged a detainer for David Cruz Torres, a criminal alien from Mexico, who is currently in custody at the Saratoga County Jail. We are calling on New York to honor our detainer," the Department of Homeland told us in a statement.
“Cruz Torres lawfully entered the United States on May 19, 2026, through the Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, with permission to stay for a temporary period."
The Mexican is due back in court on Thursday.
"The attack lacerated Olivia's left vertebral artery and left a wound across the front of her neck that nicked her trachea. Her left ear was also sliced and later required plastic surgery. Surgeons were able to repair the artery, but blood flow through that area is still reduced, and she will need blood thinners as she heals," her friend explained.
Neri is recovering hospital but is on a voice restriction protocol until at least Oct. 16.

🚨BREAKING: State prosecutors are officially seeking the death penalty for all eight individuals charged in the utterly sickening, barbaric torture and execution of a 20-year-old mother in Birmingham.
The harrowing ordeal began when Mahogany Jackson was taken captive, handcuffed, stripped, and subjected to hours of unimaginable abuse that the monsters filmed on video.
Early in the morning on February 25, Jackson managed to text frantic family members to let them know she was being held hostage. Chilling footage later revealed her being stomped on, spit on, dragged by her hair naked toward a car trunk, and forced to perform sex acts at gunpoint.
