One of the things that hurts me most with Lansing is I say all the time I'd live here my whole life, then the moment I consider buying a house instead of renting I worry about if I want to move later

I figured out a way to use my camera to figure out a lightbulb's brightness and color temp, made a whole plan to record lamp stats around downtown, and write a report on exactly what areas have what issues, then realized no one's reading that shit lmao
I'm sick of these doors I hate them. It's like the cheap half moon doors but even less friendly, always done for contemporary almost like "new brutalist" barndominium builds, and now no one knows that craftsman style actually means.
A bit of a dramatic change, but looking into how we can reimagine the Captiol's steps. Everything shown can be done within the existing curbs (black), meaning this could be done *tomorrow*. All turns are 15' radius, enough for large fire trucks.

Retained parking could be on either side. Bi directional tracks like on Ottawa here aren't ideal, but lack of driveways makes it less of an issue. Capitol at Michigan isn't great, but could be easily improved by removing the bump outs on the East (top) side of the intersection.
I have a lot of complaints with Lansing's new Non-Motorized plan, but this is like fantastic no notes. Reminds you how comedically bad this area actually is.
