Vitinha is a work of art, all these beautiful stuff only for Ferran Torres to miss 1v1. What a player. Saddens me that he can’t replicate same performance for Portugal.

Ferran Torres has cemented his place the king of missing chances, how do you miss this clear opportunity.

🚨 Thierry Henry on Vitinha against Barcelona: “Do you know what impressed me most about Vitinha tonight? Barcelona knew exactly who they needed to stop. They came into this game with a plan for him. You could see it. Normally, when Vitinha receives the ball, he has this little moment where he looks around, adjusts his body, and suddenly PSG are playing through your midfield. Barcelona didn’t want to give him that moment. They pushed high, closed the spaces around him, and tried to make every touch uncomfortable. And I was watching him thinking, ‘Okay, now I want to see what you do.’ Because it’s easy to look like a fantastic midfielder when everybody gives you time. What happens when a team like Barcelona decides you’re the problem? Well, he gave them an answer. There was a moment when he received the ball with players closing him down, and instead of rushing, he simply adjusted his position and found another way to keep PSG moving. Nothing spectacular. But that’s what makes him special. He understands that he doesn’t always need to beat the pressure himself. Sometimes he just needs to move it somewhere else. And Barcelona kept having to chase. People don’t always appreciate how difficult that is. You’re playing deep in midfield, you’re responsible for the rhythm of your team, and the opposition have practically decided that you shouldn’t be allowed to play football. But you still have to organise everything. Then, with the game at 2–2, he scores the goal that puts them ahead. I mean, come on. Imagine spending the evening trying to stop one midfielder from controlling the game, only for that same midfielder to decide the result himself. And what makes it even more interesting is that Barcelona have Pedri. We know what Pedri can do. I love watching him. But tonight, when people discuss that midfield battle, they’re going to have to discuss Vitinha. Not because of some argument about who’s better. I don’t care about that. I’m talking about what happened on the pitch. Vitinha had Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz alongside him, and the understanding between those three was outstanding. One moves, another covers, somebody offers an angle. Barcelona press one player, and the ball has already gone somewhere else. That’s not an accident. That’s a midfield that understands each other. And Vitinha is at the centre of it. You know, when I was playing, there were midfielders you could leave alone for a few seconds and nothing would happen. Then there were others where the manager would tell you before the game, ‘Don’t let this guy turn.’ Vitinha is becoming that second type. And here’s the problem. Even when you stop him turning, he finds another solution. That’s why I find him fascinating. He’s not a striker. He’s not a winger waiting for the ball so he can attack somebody. He’s a midfielder who spends most of his evening making sure everybody else can play. And somehow, at the end of the night, he’s the man who scores the winner. Barcelona came with a plan to stop Vitinha. The problem is that Vitinha came with an answer to everything they tried. Including the final score.”

🚨Zlatan on the Luis Enrique and his PSG team: “Currently without, a doubt they’re the best in the world.I thought today would have been a tough match for them but they have clearly proven to everyone that no team is at thier level. The scoreline today could have been worse if not for the Barca goalkeeper.”

🚨 Lamine Yamal on Barcelona’s first defeat of the season against PSG: “We’ve played many games this season where the opponent scores, but we don’t panic because we know we’ll score more than them. Tonight PSG scored, we equalised. They scored again, we equalised again. Everything was going normally. Then they scored a third. We were preparing to respond, but before we could do anything, they scored a fourth. Usually we’re the ones who do that. So I don’t understand it”
