Today we wished our wonderful Mrs Lambert a very happy retirement. Mrs Lambert has spent a remarkable 40 years as Cavalry school's crossing patrol officer and 38 years as a midday supervisor/cleaner at Cavalry. She will be sorely missed by the Cavalry pupils, families and staff.

Today Year 1 travelled back in time to 1666, and discovered what it would be like to have lived in the time of the Great Fire of London. First, we found out what types of jobs people did in the past, and tried our hand at these traditional skills. @ElliotFndtn

The children then investigated how the fire started, how people tried to put it out, and why it spread so far. We became archaeologists and explored the remains of different buildings to discover who worked or lived there, using the artefacts as clues. We had such a fun day!

As they watched the bees coming to collect the nectar, on child told us that "bees collect nectar and turn it in to honey" and her friend added "you can put honey on toast but my favourite is in smoothies!". How tall is your tallest plant? Is it taller than Mrs Mann?

A big "well done" to our Reception pupils for a fabulous first day of school today! They were confident, enthusiastic, inquisitive and friendly. It felt like they'd been here for ages! What a positive start to their education, we can't wait for tomorrow!

Year 5, don't forget your swimming kits today!

No, we're not hosting a jumble sale already... These coats were all left at the end of the summer term. Please collect from the front of school this morning. Any left at 9am will be added to our pre-loved clothing stores.

Year 5: you will be swimming THIS THURSDAY! Please make sure you have your swimming kit with you on Thursday. We usually say bring a warm coat too but seen as though it's going to be a scorcher, that won't be necessary this week 🌞🙄🤣
