Even allowing for the distortion effect of our GDP, we are investing relatively little in education. One significant aspect of our system has been its resilience to underinvestment, or its efficiency, which is remarkable when compared to any other area of major public spending.

Happy Michaelmas to all our schools
Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael—Archangels!
On this great feast, Fr. Gabriel Torretta, O.P., encourages you to pray to St. Michael, to fight for you against the deadly powers of the enemy; to St. Gabriel, to fill you with the knowledge of God’s Word; and to St. Raphael, to heal and protect you from anything that might draw you away from Jesus Christ.
