Is modern life making us happier—or pulling us further from God, family, and one another? Mike Thomas and Andrew Ewell of the Catholic Land Movement join Conor to discuss why so many Catholics are rediscovering a simpler, land-based way of life rooted in prayer, family, and meaningful work. Together they explore Catholic social teaching, distributism, technology and AI, the importance of subsidiarity and community, and how reconnecting with the created world can help restore a more human, virtuous, and deeply Catholic way of living. youtu.be/Eexwp0q3qoE

John Cuddeback is a friend of the CLM (he spoke at our 2025 National Conference), and we would like to introduce you to his work. He is a philosophy professor (and homesteader) who founded LifeCraft to make accessible today timeless wisdom about living the good life in our homes. His new book, The Intentional Household: Living as if People Matter, explains the traditional understanding of the nature of a household, and so offers the foundation and framework for why living on the land is so fitting. The eight principles in this book will challenge you to rethink your own households in light of ultimate truths, and offer concrete direction for your home life in these challenging times, wherever you live. We think you will appreciate the combination of philosophical depth, accessibility, and practicality. You can purchase the book here: ignatius.com/intentional-hou… He and his wife Sofia also have a popular podcast, The Intentional Household. A couple of recommended episodes are Is Homesteading for Everyone? and How Wendell Berry Changed Our Household. Check out his podcast here: life-craft.org/podcast/

Every fall, apples, grapes, and other harvests come in faster than most families can use them. A good fruit press makes it possible to turn that harvest into cider and juice for the home, but it's expensive, and most families can't afford to buy one themselves. We're raising funds to buy a cider press for the North Idaho Catholic Land Movement chapter's tool library. Families in the chapter will be able to borrow it when their harvest comes in, learn how to use it together, and pass on these skills to future generations. When Catholic families pool what they have, they can do a lot more than any of us could alone. If you'd like to help, you can give here: zeffy.com/en-US/donation-for… Please share this with anyone who might want to be part of it.
