New this time: a revenue leaderboard, alongside the usual web and mobile traffic rankings.
Three years ago we published the first edition. ChatGPT was #1, Claude was unranked, and the entire category was chatbots, image generators, and not much else.
In today's edition:
- ChatGPT still holds the throne, now with 1B+ monthly actives on mobile
- Claude has climbed to #3 on web with nearly 1B monthly visits
- The category has expanded to vibe coding (Lovable, Cursor, Replit), music (Suno), design (Figma), voice (ElevenLabs), video (Higgsfield, Kling), agents (Manus), and even hardware (Plaud)

As an ML recruiter @Upstart 6–7 years ago, getting research scientists to consider our then-new Columbus HQ2 instead of our Bay Area HQ was a tough sell.
But if they visited? 100% acceptance rate— in the peak tech market. They could have gone anywhere. The #ShortNorth sold itself 💥

Stop thinking about career progression as "doing harder things."
Think about it as earning more autonomy. Invest in context. Communicate as you go.
That's what seniority actually is — your organization trusting you enough to let you run, because you've shown the judgment to run in the right direction.

According to the University of Phoenix Career Institute’s 2026 Career Optimism Index, 50% of people say AI makes them more confident about pivoting to a new role. Nearly half of employers already worry they cannot retain AI-fluent talent, and that risk is only growing.
