So, I was right. Again. @Shopify said in their 10Q that they paid $99 million for intangible assets. In other words, the Shop(.)com domain name. Like I said 5 weeks ago... Receipts below. This is incredibly smart and strategic by Shopify and a great new high water mark for premium domain names. I'll say it again, a premium, positive, easy to spell and easy to remember .com domain name is the most valuable real estate on Earth. Also the most scarce. It is the front door gateway to billions of consumers worldwide. No other piece of real estate offers that durable connection and mind share to consumers.
