Sorry to hear of the death of the last surviving founder member of the Special Air Service (SAS). Maj (Retd) Mike Sadler MC, MM, was included in the new TV programme “SAS Rogue Heroes”.💪 Mike enlisted in September 1939 in the Rhodesian Forces. He saw active service as a Gunner in Kenya, Italian Somaliland, Abyssinia, Messa, Matruh and Halfya Pass. In September 1941 he transferred to the LRDG and became a top-class navigator and subsequently transferred to the SAS where he became David Stirling’s navigator. He fought with the SAS in Italy and France following his time in the Desert War. He went on to receive the rank of Chevalier of the Legion d’honneur and was also honoured with the Military Medal and Military Cross during the war.🎖 A real hero of the generation❤️ Who Dares Wins Source: Dublin Branch Royal British Legion

@RoyalNavy10 Oct 2023
Tributes have been paid to one of the Navy's biggest characters, Cdr Robert 'Bob' Hawkins, who died suddenly. Bob served for 47 years in mine warfare especially, but also frigates and @HMSQNLZ and most recently @RNinScotland as CO of HMS Caledonia.

.@Better_UK What’s going on with your app? Every night I try to book into classes at 2200, because that’s the time the class bookings open but the app never works! So frustrating, given the cost per month for membership

To my Royal Navy Twitter friends; what are the badges worn above your medal ribbons? Seems to be dolphins and something that looks like a seahorse? No offence meant, genuinely interested.
