New single Through The Wall – out now
The closing track on 2025 album Control Zed, the single carries a message of reaching out and reconnecting — at a time when that feels more vital than ever.

CONTROL ZED Track by track.
You can read a track-by-track guide to our new album 'Control Zed' now on the @eventhestarsuk site.
Includes Neil's thoughts on how the songs originated, the recordings came together, lyrical approach, and even how to make the perfect cup of tea!
Really enjoyed performing an acoustic set at @thisisbask recently.
We re-worked the songs - this time as a trio of acoustic guitar, keys, acoustic bass and voice - and they each seemed to take on a different life. It was great to be able to share this with the audience.
Included possibly the first ever live performance of Through The Wall, and definitely our first version of The Smiths' Ask - hope you liked them :-)
Enjoyed also the sets by Paul Hand, Catherine Taylor-Dawson and Jack Hyphen - some fab acoustica.
And Neil also got to sign the Bask guitar (see pic).
Looking forward to the next one...

Carousel Clouds will perform a live, acoustic show at Stockport Bask, on Monday 6th July 2026, as part of the Acoustica series.
Expect to hear acoustic versions of songs from both Control Zed and Tales of Coincidence albums, as well a special surprise just for the occasion.
One of the first ever (possibly the first ever!) Carousel Clouds performances was at an Acoustica event way back when (pic below)... Dickon and Neil also played an enjoyable acoustic set at Bask Acoustica in 2022 (1st pic).
Free entry event, with Carousel Clouds on stage at 7pm.
There will be some slightly-different arrangements of songs, so looking forward to another great night!
Also performing: @JackHyphen, Catherine Taylor-Dawson and @PaulHandMusic
We will bring along a few vinyl copies of Control Zed, available to buy. Hope to see you there!

THE WHITE HOTEL
Around 10 years ago, we were rehearsing and writing at The White Hotel, in what was to become the venue's 'green room' for live events.
I'd been to the venue before (I think Esben and the Witch in 2013 was my first visit, at The Bunker part of the building)
The White Hotel has embodied a spirit and attitude which made it so popular. Pure, honest, and refreshing.
This photo - used on our album cover - was taken outside The White Hotel, after one rehearsal. There were fireworks nearby, and a 'Blood Red Sky' colour...
...matching one of our song titles. The tower to the right was not there the following week, this could be its last ever photograph?
Thankyou to The White Hotel for all you have done for Manchester and Salford, and good luck in the next chapter!
