The review Martin Howard and I wrote on “Graded versus ON/OFF control in quantitative gene expression and epigenetic memory” is now available at EMBO J doi 10.1038/s44318-026-00750-y

In our new review paper, @ywan_wan and I focused on the functional importance of RNA structure in gene regulation. Many thanks to Yue and Xinang! I really enjoy the writing process. nature.com/articles/s41580-0…

And as back-to-back with this other modelling paper with my dear friend Govind Menon! From Martin Howard group AND @ReeSvenja @robertietswaart @Bobby_Mapes, among others @JohnInnesCentre, so for me is like having twins 😍

I'm glad to share that one of my projects in @CarolineDeanLab is now published on bioRxiv. Thanks to all authors! We have used several approaches to characterize FCA condensates in vivo.

Today we started a very special meeting at @JohnInnesCentre. The first reunion of all Dean alumni. First time I saw live so many people I read papers from! Good science and a lot of fun ahead! @CarolineDeanLab @YiliangDing

COOLAIR and PRC2 function in parallel to silence FLC during vernalization - out now! 🌱❄️Great effort by all the authors (on twt @_MathiasLN @emateobonmati @wolffsworld @shaolyyy)
Our paper is officially out @PNASnews
We aimed to better understand the role of lncRNA and Polycomb during FLC silencing.
Elucidating their interplay required a combination of genetics, molecular biology, and, importantly, computational modelling. 👇

After 4 years in the lab @ReeSvenja successfully defended her PhD on the spatio-temporal regulation of FLC last Friday! Pictured here with supervisor Martin Howard and @ReaLAntKour. Congratulations Dr. Svenja Reeck!!
Excited to share with you our recent work on how different gene expression modes are integrated at FLC

Here is a cheat sheet for everyone who is not as familiar with the terms of digital and analog gene regulation as we are after over 10 year of joined group meetings with the Howard group 🧬💻🌱😀 @JohnInnesCentre
Massive effort by all the authors and collaborators
@ReaLAntKour @meschichi @ReeSvenja @scottbscience Govind Menon @zhao_yusheng @JohnFoz Terri Holmes Lihua Zhao Huamei Wang Matthew Hartley Stefanie Rosa and Martin Howard
Another step closer to understanding the complexity of FLC regulation by showing that antisense transcription and PRC2 repression function in parallel during vernalization ❄️
Happy to share our recent work led by @_MathiasLN 🧬🌱and Govind Menon 💻
biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
Today we submitted two exciting stories to bioRxiv:
Driven by @emateobonmati we show that "The CPSF phosphatase module links transcription termination to chromatin silencing" biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
In the second paper led by Govind Menon, we developed a mathematical model to capture the different feedback mechanisms between co-transcriptional 3′ processing and chromatin modifications determining the rate at which Polycomb repression is established
biorxiv.org/cgi/content/shor…
All of this would not have been possible without the endless efforts of all the authors @emateobonmati Govind Menon @XiaofengFang1 @Bobby_Mapes Marc Fiedler @lapassmore @ReeSvenja Zhe Wu and Robert Ietswaart in this fruitful collaboration with the Howard group @JohnInnesCentre
