Monsieur Plamondon, mardi dernier, ce n'est pas ce que vous disiez. Vous affirmiez n’avoir eu aucun contact avec l’administration Trump et n’avoir fait aucune tentative pour obtenir une rencontre avec l'un de ses représentants.
Or, l'équipe consulaire — et vous êtes assez sophistiqué pour le savoir — fait partie intégrante du département d'État américain, donc de l'administration de Donald Trump.
Quand un politicien planifie un voyage aux États-Unis, ce n'est pas pour faire du tourisme, visiter le Grand Canyon ou s'amuser à Walt Disney !
C'est pour nouer des contacts et bâtir des réseaux.
Vous avez déclaré publiquement qu'un gouvernement du Parti québécois se comporterait immédiatement comme un État souverain dans ses relations commerciales.
Que vous n'hésiteriez pas à contourner Ottawa pour traiter directement avec Washington.
Il est donc parfaitement raisonnable de supposer que vous ayez cherché à établir des têtes de pont aux États-Unis, vous qui vous croyez déjà à la tête d'un pays capable de mener sa propre diplomatie.
Vous n'avez pas dit toute la vérité plus tôt cette semaine.
On peut légitimement douter que vous la disiez aujourd'hui.

At 3:54 pm Donald Trump emerged from the White House with freshly colored hair and makeup, as Marine One’s engine roared in the background. He walked directly over to the waiting press, threw his hands out in front of him, gesturing at the empty ground in front of him, while he squeezed his legs together and arched his torso forward, yelling to the reporters, “This is the way the White House is supposed to look. Not asphalt. Broken, dirty asphalt. Look at it.” He then paused, frowning as he looked over his left shoulder, and continued, “The finest stone you could buy anywhere in the world.”
The gathered press said nothing, confused by his odd behavior. The President then took three steps forward and appeared to remember why he had come outside in the first place. “Okay. So, I’m heading to Alabama, a place that I won all three times. Record votes, like Texas, like Oklahoma, like a lot of them. And we’re going to give a little speech, and I hope they like it.”
For the next 6 minutes and 52 seconds, we watched the President struggle to answer questions, follow the conversation, and even walk in a straight line. Donald Trump is gravely unwell, and whatever is behind his serious decline appears to be rapidly accelerating.
