A new mumu, a few necklaces from The RealReal, and suddenly I’m pulling out garnet earrings I bought in Prague years ago. Sometimes one piece is just waiting for its best friend. 😂
Thirty-three years later, and this dress is still so good. Byron Lars was named @WWD’s Fashion Rookie of the Year in 1993, and they were spot on. His take on menswear for women had wit, shape, and a point of view that still feels fresh.
My October collection for @QVC is here, and we’re going a little French girl. Jeans and a chambray blouse for errands, a beautifully cut jacket for lunch, and a printed ponte tee when dinner calls. Add a peplum cardigan for Saturday night and a taffeta leopard midi skirt. 💜
I love these sandals, but apparently having the ankle studs removed wasn’t enough. Now they’re eating my toes. I’m telling you, these sandals are relics of the Spanish Inquisition! I’m going to SoHo. I need to be able to WALK.
A wedding is a very good excuse to get dressed up, and getting ready with these two is half the fun. I went for midnight blue with a purple bag, Ivy brought the color, and Michael cleans up rather nicely, if I do say so myself.
Fall is my favorite. Cooler temperatures, changing leaves, and of course, the sales. Nature really knows how to set the mood for shopping. #shoehaul
I always loved Keith Haring‘s work because it felt so fun.
He was one of the brilliant creatives lost during the AIDS pandemic. Ivy and I had a good time using his work as inspiration that afternoon.
If I waited for an occasion to wear everything in my closet, half of it would never leave the house. Sometimes the occasion is simply that I got dressed. Add the big earrings. Wear the ridiculous bracelet. I’ve yet to regret making an entrance…
The ’90s keep coming back. Some of it I welcome with open arms. Low-rise skinny jeans can stay right where they are, thank you.
But a slip dress? That takes me straight back to my grunge days. The question is how to wear one now without looking like I'm searching for a mosh pit.
In my twenties, I saved up for my luxury items and then filled out my outfit with more affordable pieces. Nothing has changed. I do the same thing now.
An Alaïa top and my Carla Rockmore for QVC pants? Absolutely. If the silhouette works, wear the thing.
Getting older has never made me want to shrink. If anything, I want to dress louder, take up more space and have a hell of a lot more fun. Oh, and listen to Charli XCX.
This is the second little trick I’ve picked up recently, and I love this one: use a tie as a belt. Ten seconds, whole new outfit. But do I look like Friar Tuck?
Lessons from a 50+ woman and creator:
Do what you want. Dance in the streets. Buy the clothes.
Style does NOT have an age limit, dammit!! Getting dressed is one of the simplest ways to celebrate being alive, evolving, and unapologetically yourself.
A little mother-daughter shopping in Soho and the Lower East Side. Gorgeous colors, a few things I couldn’t put down, and plenty of unsolicited commentary from mother. Ivy is a good sport. I’m going to need a nap. 😂

Fashion reflects the times in such a visceral way, which is one of the things I love most about it. You can practically feel history in the shapes, fabrics and silhouettes.
Take the French Revolution and the sexual revolution. What did they have in common? The empire waistline!
A very realistic look at getting ready for fashion week. If you think this GRWM gets progressively more chaotic… well, yes. That’s pretty much how these days go. 💋
