As #WorldCancerDay comes to a close, a reminder that cancer doesn’t affect lives only once a year — it’s every single day. Research, innovation, and compassion are what move us closer to better care, better outcomes, and better lives. #unitedbyunique
Keep pushing forward.💙🎗️

So, do we really know:
What is a comprehensive #cancer centre?
What should we expect them to be, to do, & to do for & with others?

A systematic review and meta-analysis of patient-relevant outcomes in comprehensive cancer centers versus noncomprehensive cancer centers Out in Cancer by ACS
This systematic review compares patient-relevant outcomes between comprehensive cancer centers (CCCs) and non-CCCs. Analyzing 36 observational studies, mostly from the U.S., the review found that CCCs generally report superior outcomes, including lower mortality, better peri- and postoperative care, and reduced cancer recurrence or progression. A meta-analysis showed a 23% lower overall mortality risk in CCCs compared to non-CCCs. However, non-CCCs had more favorable outcomes in health equity and costs. Mixed results were noted for time to care, palliative care, and healthcare utilization.
The review highlights the need for CCCs to focus on equitable, patient-centered outcomes, especially in quality of life and economic factors.

🥳🥳High need to adopt systems-thinking into all #supponc practices!
Never lack evidence for exercise & diets in #survonc, but we need to pull the RIGHT LEVERS to make it happen!
