Props where it is deserved. Wish we had this sort of bold thinking in the Emerald City.
We have completely eliminated single family zoning and costly parking mandates citywide. Sorry Seattle, but we are #1 in terms of pro-housing policy. We have done the work on the policy side, we are doing the work on the permitting side. We really need a federal partner that will help us get the investment we need in our community to build out our vision. We're very excited to be YIMBYs for a Harris administration.

Did you know ridership in the PNW has increased dramatically since 2020? @SoundTransit has seen its number of riders more than double, @KitsapTransitβs ridership has risen by 40%, and in @CityofSeattle, ridership across several transit systems has surged more than six-fold.

We distilled it down to three key fixes for Seattle's Comp Plan:
1 - Let middle housing be bigger
2 - Allow larger apartments in more places
3 - Legalize car-free homes everywhere

this mass timber project features no modulations & is a simple box. this is critical to build mass timber structures. regulating whacky shapes kills their structural ability and forces builders to use concrete or steel. our land use codes need major reforms for sustainability

What a shame it would be to lose a boarded up QFC. This will be great for the businesses and community on 15th. β at Seattle, WA

Hey @seattledot almost every flex post on the corner of the improvements at 46th and Phinney Way (getting on SB Aurora) has been destroyed. Drivers fly thru this crosswalk at high speed even when the walk sign is on. Can u reinforce with concrete? Cc @Spottnik β at Fremont, Seattle

I'm proud of what we're accomplishing in Bothell, and keenly aware of the statement our residents just made in an election that was quite contentious and mostly about housing.
In the past decade, Bothell has increased its population by more than 40%, moved its main highway and built a dense new downtown, transforming itself from a rustic suburb into a somewhat-urban destination. st.news/3tnmwL0
Amazing stat: 2/3 of Finnish municipalities had ZERO fatalities in 2022. The national and local efforts seem to work together.
Good reminder that local Vision Zero plans in Seattle, Tacoma and elsewhere are an important component of how we will make progress.
