I love running my LLMs locally, but damned if the Tesla/SpaceX/Grok/Cursor teams didn’t build something stupid special. I run an Emby server at home (plex competitor), my buddy wanted a movie. I thought why not have a simple webpage that will allow someone to submit a request. I started chatting with Grok and it said basically why stop there, use the API on the backend to start the download automatically if the user is approved, give progress checks, etc.. I told Grok to see if something exists like that already, it found one GitHub repo that was close but more of a dashboard than a search. So I spent about 5 minutes going back and forth on what it should do, how it should work, security controls, etc.. then told it to go build and push to my GitHub and I’d deploy when I got home. Grok reminded me that it has access to my infrastructure at home and told me it could just build it and deploy it. So I said sure. It’s now building out a new web app for me and says it’ll be done building, testing and deployed for external users by the time I get home. All just by having a conversation with my Cybertruck. And sure enough, I got a message before I got home saying it was done.

WTF is happening when the media is talking about OpenAI Dots, but the headlines are all comparing it to Muse?! I've yet to read a single one that mentions anything about Grok Bot.

OK, someone explain to me like I'm an idiot. What's so special about Hermes? Especially on Omarchy where all the agents are built in and at your fingertips already. What does installing Hermes Agent get me that Grok/Grok Build/Grok Bot, and/or ChatGPT/Codex don't? I thought it was being able to use my RTX3090, but nope. I've got to set up something else outside of Hermes, download the models, etc.. so that Hermes can use that. Yet another subscription, this one to Nous? Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to knock them. I'm just trying to understand.

The most annoying thing about Grok, getting used to it always working. When it's not it becomes a bit of a major annoyance.

OK, no clue how many people see this, if any. BUT, if so I'd like some feedback. Creating a pluging for Omarchy to play from Tidal. I am NOT a graphics designer type so this is messy looking. My thoughts: 1. Move Search to the right of search bar vs under it. 2. Move the second line buttons to the left vs centered 3a. Collapse the plugin horizontally to kill off the free space above the search bar 3b. Add a small visualzer in the free space above the search bar 4. Run cover art through a imaging process to make it more CLI friendly

Everyone else is trying out @OmarchyLinux, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Coming from Ubuntu it was a shock. I ALMOST said screw it and went back to Ubuntu after an hour. Instead I kept at it, found limitations then used the built-in agent ability to overcome those. One of them is using TIDAL for my music streaming. No native way on Linux and no support for it via cliamp. So instead, I told the agent I wanted Tidal to work via the CLI, and it said "OK, hold my beer!". After getting me to login and pass it the auth code and less than 5 minutes it'd queried and found out how it works and built it so I run it from the command line. No pretty stuff like with cliamp, but it works. Now to get it into the Top Bar with Start/Stop/Play/Search and eventually Queues?!

I made the switch to Linux full time many years ago. Since then I've been enjoying one hell of a stable machine, so I haven't done anything more than the normal updates since. But I'll admit, this whole Omarchy stuff everywere has me debating.

This was going to be just a normal post, but there was just too much to fit that I had to make it an article. Sorry about that. Good luck if you try to read it through to the end!

In today's episode of "What can AI do for me?" My niece hit me up saying that Emby was down. I verified it worked for me internally, but failed externally. I had Grok Build already opened and working on something else, so I was curious what it'd do (it has access to my network and Infrastructure via API and SSH Keys). I opened a new session and told it "I think Emby is down, check and if it is, fix it" Then went back to doing what I was doing before. I glanced at the other window to see what it was doing only to see it wasn't. I paused to read...and it had checked that it was working internally, failing externally, dug into why it was failing, found the problem, made the needed changes for the fix, validated it was working externally, wrote up what it did in a log file for me to look at with some suggested improvements so it could catch it down by itself in the future. All within a minute and a half! I continue to be amazed every time I do anything with it at this point. Anyone only using it as a glorified search engine is sorely missing out.

Being in IT I'm constantly harassed to find use cases and implement AI for almost everything. We've found some use cases and several that just don't make sense. But I always tend to play with things at home to really see what things can do and learn without the guardrails put in place at work. Last night I decided to give they API keys to my network to an AI model and told it "I've got ubiquiti hardware, investigate hardware and software settings. Provide any suggested tweaks or fixes to harden my network and improve performance." It went through and found security holes I thought I'd fixed a long time ago, it found several ways to get better performance, etc.. I did a manual backup and told it to go for it before going to bed. This morning I woke up and found it'd made a total of 92 changes to my network, my NVR, my cameras, apparently finding my CloudFlare API key in a config file and then using that to create a CloudFlare Tunnel, closed off my open ports and killed off my Port Forwarding rules. Redid my firewall changing it from IP based to Zone based. Setting up a new VLAN (for a total of 4 now), moved things around to the new VLAN setup, creating documentation for me, an architectural design, security review, security design, network diagram. Then at the end rotated all of my API keys, uploaded them to Bitwarden (found it's way into that as well through a config file), and then purged the new keys from it's memory. OK, I'm sold for certain tasks. Also a little scared/surprised on how it went through and did so much with other services. That's what I get for telling it to just do everything without any approval from me (because I was going to bed).

My wife says I'm no longer allowed to drive my Cybertruck. I'm only allowed to use FSD. I've now gotten pulled over too many times for speeding. I can't help it. The power is too addictive. I'm just really glad the cop tonight was cool and let me off with a verbal warning. That ticket for 46MPH over would of hurt.

Mad Max FSD in the Cybertruck through the mountains is a whole different level of trust building.

I love FSD!! I’ve now been in this traffic jam for about 30 minutes, and I don’t even care.

You never know what sort of treat you’ll come across as you travel the country. Today we came across delicacies from my childhood. Chicken livers and banana pudding.

I just used A.S.S. for the first time with my Cybertruck. My dear lord, I knew I was missing out, but that's a crazy feature. Even knowing others could do it, actually seeing my empty vehile driving to me the first time is mindblowing
