ALT 'In 2015, Not Dead Yet organized 80 placards with the names, faces, and words of disabled people, many of whom could not physically attend the protests. Some of these were worn outside Parliment by people who could attend, in a show of representation and allyship.' Two such bright yellow posters are shown on this slide. The first reads ‘John says Assist Us To Live, Not Die! I have been in hospital numerous times in severe pain, had little personal support no reason to kill me. I want assistance to live.' The other is shows a man wearing a bipap mask on this nose with text 'I have a job, I have a family, I want to live, not be killed off!’

ALT ‘Eleanor, Liz Carr, and others holding protests signs and chanting.' Signs say ‘Vote no to assisted suicide,' assisted suicide is not the solution,' ‘Do no harm, vote no, and ‘Ditch the death bill.’

ALT ‘We need you! Join us outside Parliament on 11th September at Old Palace Yard 8:20-10:30am for speeches from Liz Carr and others, then Parliament Square 10:30am-3pm for a demonstration that tells MPs: Vote "no" on the assisted suicide bill and photo below shows protestors holding big letters that spell # Assist Us To Live.’

ALT 1 in 3 people in England die with unmet palliative care needs. As disabled and terminally ill people, we know how it feels for support services to wear you down and make you feel a burden: Care hours cut, impossible waits for accessible housing, healthcare denied, lengthy appeals. Fighting takes time that terminally ill people don’t have.
