Should have started my training last week but a little finger injury kept me off the streets but I’m back at it now. Training for this 100 Miler alone has been fun, for my 50 a year back, I used Runna and for my 100 this year I used vert.run but this time around

The rest of October is quite important for me in terms of making running more of a habit and building some good mileage and confidence and then I’ll start properly setting in to bigger runs with good cross training and strength work. February is daunting though 🤣🤣🤣

Week 2 complete. It is early days but I had fun. Looking back at my mileage October 2025, the foundation I will build will no doubt only be good for me. I have realised was the value of short runs. How they slowly ramp up your weekly mileage but also don’t take up too much time

Minister Maynier Declares New National Park In Eastern Cape The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, David Maynier, has declared 18 properties in the Eastern Cape, covering a total of 10 225.9242 hectares, as the Grasslands National Park. The declaration was published in Government Gazette No. 55531 under Government Notice No. 8002. Situated in the Eastern Cape highlands between Nqanqarhu and Rhodes, the park will help protect underrepresented grassland ecosystems and part of the Eastern Cape Drakensberg Strategic Water Source Area. These landscapes are important for water security, biodiversity and the livelihoods supported by the region’s working agricultural land: shorturl.at/m5ABv

Cold but ultra rewarding weekend on the Breede with the NSRI training Dept as they took us through safety and management of Swiftwater and Flood Rescue

This is how my weekend started last week. Joint night training with Station 4 to learn ColRegs, spend time in Saldanha harbour at night and work on a class 1 vessel. Encountered a super pod of common dolphin on our trip up and did some terrestrial navigation on the way home #NSRI

Over the years, we’ve heard so many powerful stories about how 4AM has helped many of you through tough times. If our music has ever helped you through, thank you for sharing your story. ♥️

In the middle of one of the hardest runs I’ve done. #12HoursOfDarkness was good despite me only managing 5 hours. If only the liquid in this bottle lit me up inside too 🤣

As elite athletes we try to maximise and optimise aid stations, but doing so we are bringing every year more crew and spending more resources on it. Is that fair? Should we regulate to ensure fairness or leave it free? I wrote my thoughts 👉fjell.cc/the-aid-station-deb…
