Being undead is a dreadful state to be in, and most are driven to spread that misery to the living. They're unable to let go, they never find peace, so they become monsters.

Animal lives are no less valuable than ours.
They have heart that beats blood just like we have, they have lungs that breathe just like ours.
And in the end they do far less damage to the world and every other living being than any of us does.
So be better person and value them.
