Doctors at Gemelli Hospital removed a cancerous tumor from Pope Leo XIV’s right lung, according to the Holy See Press Office. The surgery was successful, with no complications, and the Holy Father has returned to his hospital room.
We ask the faithful to continue praying for Pope Leo’s recovery and for the doctors and staff caring for him. We also hold in prayer all who are living with cancer, their families, and those who care for them.

Dear friends, during some recent medical examinations, the doctors found a small, localized nodule in my lung. It was detected at a very early stage and is well-localized. The doctors believe that it is best to intervene, so, following their advice, I have decided to undergo surgery to remove it. The operation is already scheduled to take place in the coming days. I thank you for your spiritual closeness and entrust myself to your prayers.

Contemplation presents a marvelous opportunity to encounter the God who is Beauty.

I spent the past few days hanging out with people I love and genuinely enjoy.
While no prompt/app/bot could ever replace the richness of friendship, laughter, and community, I do feel a sadness/pity for those who lack these things and turn to places that can only imitate them.
I mean, come on, no addict wants to hear their problems or leave what they're attached to.
But love seeks to call us out of the depths - even if we don't know we're in them, or are comfortable in the darkness, or think it is "better" than the alternatives.
